This hand blown glass vase was created by layering several colors to create an earthy green, and then blowing the molten bubble into a bronze mold. The mold separates the color, trapping a clear bubble in the center. This creates the illusion of eyespots, similar to the tail feather of a peacock. In each eyespot there is a clear glass lens that magnifies the pattern of this perfectly symmetrical vase. Check out the video!

This Small Tide Pool Green Octopus is made with tentacles curling, bulging eyes, and an individual personality. Eight legs and three hearts, who wants a hug? Each creature is a work of art and unique.

It measures about 5 inches wide by 3 inches tall.

This large marble measures about 2.25 inches and is inspired by tube sponges in the coral reef. The colors that form the tubes in the marble are created by layering rods of glass and then stretching the rods into another rod that is then cut into short sections called murrine. After the murrine are formed, I put the coral reef together and finish off the marble in a graphite mold to give it a perfect sphere shape.

Measures 9in x 9in. This vessel is a transparent aqua with a scattered pattern of smokey silver blue streaks, the top of the opening is about 3.5in.

Imagine you could capture the moment as a mushroom blooms. This magical mushroom design is surrounded by clear glass and is about an inch in diameter. Using classic glass blowing techniques, a perfect sphere is created. A unique piece to add to any glass collection or as a special gift.

A perfect gift for yourself or that special someone. Inspired by the colors found at sea this beauty is a show stopper. The height is about 5.75 inches in height and about 5.5 inches wide.
This is a one of kind piece. The vase is inspired by the colors of the ocean . When the ocean currents swirl and move you see colors mix and blend highlighting a beautiful aquatic palette. Using traditional glass blowing techniques, this vase is blown, formed, and shaped by hand in John’s studio. Hand blown glass can bring color and class to any home or office.

This hand-blown glass bowl has alternating lines of aqua, golden yellow and pink cane that twist around a clear glass bowl. The spiral converges at the center of the bowl, creating a vortex of color. Each hue has a different intensity and creates beautiful shadows. The aqua is thin and bright, the golden yellow is elegant and the pink is barely visible blush of color. Check out the pictures.

This hand-blown glass bowl was created by rolling colorful glass rods onto a bubble of molten glass and then twisting the bubble into a spiral. Another layer of molten clear glass is gathered on the bubble and then blown into a sphere. The final move is to put another metal rod on the bottom and brake it off the blow pipe. The bubble is then heated and opened into the bowl with rods of graphite and wet newspaper. When finished, the bowl is placed into a 950 degree oven to cool slowly overnight. Food safe.

This hand-blown glass bowl has crisp black lines and an elegant profile. Bands of thin black cane twist around the clear glass bowl. A clear glass foot is also added to the bottom of the vessel to provide support. 

It measures about 14 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches high.

Using classic glass blowing techniques a soft white colored glass is blown giving a soft glow when illuminated. To this beauty is the perfect placement of three starfish reaching for the light. Standing about 10.5 inches high and 5.5 inches wide.

This starfish cluster is a hand-sculpted glass vase made with a lattice of starfish surrounding a clear glass bowl. Each starfish is hand sculpted without the use of molds, making each sculpture unique. The vibrant colors draw you into the depths, while the thick layer of clear glass make the starfish appear as though they have just been pulled out of the ocean.

This hand blown glass Starfish Urn has a blown glass lid and two aqua starfish fused to the side of the vessel.  The color of the vessel is a mixture of colors called Tide Pool Green.  It measures about 11 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide.

This beautiful marble is about 2.5 inches in size and captures a swirl of a stormy dark blue sky and sunset color spiraling in the moment. Dark blue and soft Amber are twisted to create a spiral form frozen in time. A graphite mold shapes the glass into a perfect sphere.

This black glass hat and green glass apple are inspired by the painting created by Margritte, “The Son Of Man”. The painting is the most iconic image of the surrealism movement. A self-portrait painting of a man in an overcoat and a black “bowler” hat standing in front of a wall with a green apple obstructing his view.
Using classic glass blowing techniques, a perfect green apple is placed on top a classic black colored glass hat. This glass sculpture is about 8 inches wide and 9.5 inches in height.

This Tide Pool Amber Anemone Vase consists of an alternating pattern of tide pool green seaweed-like strips of color and anemone murrine. The amber and white murrine surround a clear lens of glass, creating optical windows in which you can see the inside of the vase. 

It measures about 11.25" height and 6.5" in diameter.

The Tide Pool Amber Barnacle Starfish is created by melting optical tubes of color into the molten glass. Then layers of color are added to the bottom and a thick layer of clear glass is added to the top, making the starfish optical and appear almost wet.

In the glass making process, the optical tubes of color begin as a mass of molten glass on the end of a metal rod. Unique color patterns are added to the glass, then it is stretched into pencil thick cane. After cooling for a day, the cane is cut to reveal cross sections about a quarter inch long. Finally, the cane is arranged on a hot plate to be melted into the starfish.

When the glass is hot, John lets the molten glass fall over the edge of a metal table, capturing the moment when the starfish is creeping away, just like it clings to rocks in the ocean.

It is about 5" in diameter.

The pattern in this blown glass vase is achieved by cutting small glass rods and tiles, arranging them in a pattern, and then fusing them together in a 2100 degree kiln. A blow pipe is then rolled along the edge of the glass to form a cylinder. The bottom of the cylinder is closed, which creates a bubble, allowing the glass to then be blown and shaped into the vase. Gibbons uses the optical properties of glass to create a magnifying-glass effect in which the pattern undulates when viewed
