The "Rainbow Drop" blown glass vase is an optical rainbow vessel comprised of two opposing spirals of color. 

This glass vessel was created by first rolling up colorful rods of glass over a bubble and then poking a hole in the side of the bubble and placing a new blow pipe in the hole. Turning the bubble causes the spiral to go from the bottom to the side. Then the bubble is blown out and flattened with large thick cork paddles.  Finally, the glass is heated and the neck stretched out.

It measures about 7.5" width x 2.5" depth x 14" height.

This blown glass vase by John Gibbons is 17 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. He developed the “Vertigo Series” after realizing the optical and dizzying effects that putting colored canes of glass in a vase can have. Walking past the vase and looking at it really brings this movement to life. It’s called moire effect and it is fun to play with.

John first pulls soup can sized blobs of colored glass into pencil thick canes that stretch across the room up to 30 feet long! The rods are then cut into 4 inch lengths and laid side by side on a ceramic kiln shelf. They are then heated, squeezed together and rolled up on to a molten bubble on the end of a blow pipe and blown and shaped into a vase.

The Black Vertigo Bottle is a switch-axis glass vase with spiraling black cane twisting in opposite directions. This hand blown glass vase was created by rolling the glass rods onto a bubble of molten glass and then rotating the glass bubble 90 degrees, which causes the spiral to go from the bottom to the side. Then the vase is flattened with thick cork paddles to enhance the optics of the two opposing spirals.

This hand blown glass vase was created by layering several colors to create an earthy green, and then blowing the molten bubble into a bronze mold. The mold separates the color, trapping a clear bubble in the center. This creates the illusion of eyespots, similar to the tail feather of a peacock. In each eyespot there is a clear bubble that magnifies the pattern on the other side of the vase.

This vases measures about 12.25 inches tall and about 5.25 inches wide.

This hand blown glass Starfish Urn has a blown glass lid and two aqua starfish fused to the side of the vessel.  The color of the vessel is a mixture of colors called Tide Pool Green.  It measures about 11 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide.

This Small Anemone Windows Vase is inspired by the patterns and movements of the ocean. It is comprised of amethyst, tide pool green and cobalt murrine that create magnifying-glass effect in which the pattern undulates when viewed. The pattern is different on all sides of the vase. It is an original work of art.

It measures about 7" in height and 3.5" in diameter.

The pattern in this blown glass vase is achieved by cutting small glass rods and tiles, called murrine, and arranging them in a pattern, then fusing them together in a 2100 degree kiln. A blow pipe is then rolled along the edge of the glass to form a cylinder. The bottom of the cylinder is closed, which creates a bubble, allowing the glass to then be blown and shaped into the vase. 

This vase is made with an aqua color pattern that is almost transparent, undulating across the clear glass vase, like a wave breaking in shallow waters. Check out the video!

The Banded Jade Vase is a hand blown glass vase with a light jade color  pattern. This pattern is achieved by blowing the glass into a bronze mold. The mold separates the color, trapping a clear bubble in the center, creating a clear glass lens that magnifies the pattern. A band of amber is then applied to create a bold contrast to the pattern.
